New layouts....

Just thought i would post a few new layouts. Firstly though i would like to thank everyone for there kind comments on my tutorial. It was very much appreciated. I would love now to see your versions.

This layout dancing girl was done for crafting in style. I dont usually do doubles but have done 2 this month for crafting in style. Totally out of my comfort zone. These are some of my fav pictures of makayla. She turned 3 today. I cant believe it!!! Anyway you have till the end of the month to get your entries in. So head on over krissy has some great sketches on the blog. While you are there check out the monthly challenges on the forum. They are next on my to do list.

This is my version of the first sketch over at scrapability sketches. I have used the new fancy pants dancing girl line which is gorgeous. Makayla just loves wiggling her bum so i just had to scrap it.

This is one of my favourite photos, and i like the way the layout turned out.

This is from the 2nd sketch at scrapability sketches. Again using new FP papers. This the rough and tumble. Its great to work with a new boy range and this one is one of my favourites.

This is from my challenge over at artypants CC this weekend. All the challenges are open to wed night so head on over and do a challenge or 2. There are some great prizes up for grabs.

Well thats all for now.

PAPER ROSE TUTORIAL

Hi everyone. Well schools back. How did you all survive? We just had a relaxing time, sleeping in and doing as we pleased. Back to reality today though. School lunches, drop offs etc

I would like to say a big WELL DONE to sarah at my local scrap shop as she has been in there 12 months today! I cant believe its been that long, it only seems like yesterday since we were setting up and having the grand opening. Boy have we done a lot in those 12 months as well. Lots of laughs and lots of great times.

Today i am going to show you how to make these paper roses. I have had so many people ask how to make them. They really are easy once you know how to do them. This layout my guys was done with a great pack of goodies that jodie sent me from artypants for my guest DT spot there at the moment. The spotted paper is there paper of the month.

Artypants are about to launch a 6 week challenge over there so head on over and register, there will be some great prizes to be won and lots of great challenges.

Paper Rose tutorial

Lets make some flowers!!!!!!

To start you need 3 flowers with 6 petals all the same size. This is to make 1 flower. I made a one out of cardstock to use as a template. Fold your flower into 6. Sand and/or ink the side of the flower you want to see.

For the first flower snip down one side between the petals to the centre, following the fold line. For the 2nd flower cut away 1 petal completly and for the 3rd flower cut away 2 of the petals. Dont throw away the cut petals.

Using DS tape stick the flowers together to make 3 full flowers.

Using a skewer curl petals inwards.

Snip pointy end off the 2 smaller flowers. Using tacky glue stick the 3 flowers inside one another. Now for the tricky bit. With the double petal, curl one side into the centre, fold the top of the petal down on the other side and keeping the same curling action curl it around. Secure with DS tape. This can take a bit of practice.

With the single petal curl both ends into the middle. Wrap it around your bud, snip some off your end so it sits nice in your rose and stick in the middle.

Well there it is. I hope you enjoyed it and i hope to see some of your roses around. If you have any questions just leave a comment and i will try to help. I found these flowers on this site while blog hopping. I cannot remember who gave me the site so i am hoping that i dont offend anyone. I changed the style from the original one, to make it more imperfect and more real like to me.

Well here are my layouts as promised. These are my first 3 layouts from the sketches this month from Crafting In Style. I just love felt so much but dont use it nearly as much as i should.

The one above is of makayla when she was little. You forget how quickly they grow up.

This one is such a gorgeous photo of the 2 of them. I had a go at making my own vines thanks to krissy.
There is still time to get your entries in for this months sketch prize. You have untill the end of the month to do any (or all) of the 4 sketches. While you are there check out the monthly competions as well, and if thats not all we have a CC on this weekend. The theme is all about the environment. So come on over and join in the fun.
I will come back tomorrow and show you my examples for the monthly challenges.
Bye for now.

New Layouts.

Hi everyone. Just thought that i would post a few new layouts. I have haydens 6th birthday party tomorrow. He is so excited. He has been bouncing around here not being able to sit still, so i am surprised he has actually gone to sleep.

This first layout is for scrpability sketches. I have used scenic routes new papers (again). I am loving them at the moment, they are so versatile. Well i really am haydens no.1 fan. This was at haydens last auskick game. He totally loved it which surprised me as i had never seen him as a team sports person before but he has grown up so much this year.

This layout has been removed for publication......

The layout above is for annas craft cupboards sketch challenge for the month. I love the simplicity of this layout. The next one is for Wicked princesses monthly challenge.

Wooho i won the first sketch challenge over at Totally addicted to sketch. They are a new sketch blog and have some great sketches.

And lastly but not least is a layout i done for artpants cybercrop last week. They have a new 6 week competition about to start soon and jodie is putting up 3 months worth of there wonderful kits up for the winner. So make sure you head on over and cheak it out!!!!!!!

I will be back tomorrow to post some layouts from CIS monthly sketches. Make sure you go over as this months sketch is suberb. (Although they always are krissy).
